Max M-K

Max is a painter and jeweler from London whose work focuses on exploring myth and metalanguage. Each work is a puzzle and to decode it the viewer must translate a symbolic language with no dictionary. It is through repetition that the symbols gain meaning, eventually becoming defined and redefined by their constantly evolving contexts. Not only is the ubiquity of the symbols important in decoding, so is the form in which they appear. Symbolically carved jewelry becomes talismanic, an object of ritual for an unknown belief system.
